Starting a UGC account from zero

My main account has a little over 2,000 followers. Not nothing, but not the kind of number that makes a brand slide into your DMs either. It's a personal account — a mix of whatever I felt like posting — and it never felt like the right place to start treating content like work.

So I made a second TikTok account. A clean one. No posts yet, no followers, no history. It exists for one reason: to be the place where UGC lives. Product content, reviews, whatever a brand might want to see — that's what it's for, and nothing else.

I haven't posted on it yet, and I don't think that's a problem. Before I film a single thing I want the account to look intentional when it does get a video: a clear bio, a handle that reads like a creator, and a setup that says "this person is serious" before the views even show up.

Keeping the two accounts separate feels right for a few reasons. The main one stays personal and the new one gets to be a portfolio. If a brand clicks through, they see product work, not a random vlog from last summer. And honestly, it takes the pressure off — I can experiment on the UGC account without worrying about messing up the audience I already have.

The plan is simple: make three to five sample videos with stuff I already own, get the account looking like something, then start pitching. The followers will come after the work, not before. Right now the job is just to begin.
